Last night. The result of the Geraldine election wait: Wakefield (Opposition) 247, Feldwick (Greyite) 160. Result; of poll received with the greatest enthusiasm, Wakefield be ing carried shoulder high to the Star Hotel, when he briefly addressed the electors from the balcony amidst deafening cheers. Rolleston followed and said Wakefield and himself as true Canterbury members, determined never to yield to the sole will of one* man (Sir George Grey). This was the signal for cheers upon cheers.
