Saturday night,
Henry addressed a crowded meeting last night, and made the best speech ho ever'delivered in tho district. He said he would support Liberal measures,
but not tho present. Ministry. H° had uo particular objection to Grey but to his colleagues, tho Oolonir.l Secretary being a high Tory, while Mucantlroiv gave no money to the Coast that was needed in Otago. Ho would never desert denominational education even if Curtis did and would support local option with the compensation clause. At the close of the meeting a vote of thanks and confidence was proposed and received with applause. Munro ascended the platform to move an amendment, but the chairman declared the motion carried by acclamation. A great uproar followed, Henry and his chairman leaving the room: Another chairman took the chair and Muuro and O'Connor harangued the audience as to the cowardice of the chairman's action. The meeting broke up disorderly. Fisher left for Karamea on Wednesday and has not yet returned. It has been raining ever since.
