; . Last night. It is rumored that M&cassey, who was defeated for Dunedin yesterday, wilt contest the Wakanui, but he hat little chance there. The official declaration of the Dunedin poll will tako place on Thursday. Mr Watt, K.M.i dclirered judgment in the Benares grounding case to-day, when ail the certificates of the officers concerned were returned.
At the Waikouati nomination Mr Jas. Arkle was proposed by Matthew Todd, and seconded by John W. Wron\ and Mr' (t. McLean wai propoied by John Duncan, and seconded by C. McGregor. The show of hands was in favor of McLean. The poll will take place on Saturday.
