HOKITIKA.

Last night.

The Claud Hamilton shipped the following amounts of gold to Melbourne yesterday:—4ll2ozs 14dwts 12 grains for Bank of New Zealand, and 1802ozs 17dwts for Union Bank of Australie.

The result of the essay from Mr Schconfeller of the treatment of the ore from the lower vein at the Bangitoto Co.'s mine, forwarded to Auckland for assay, is at the rate of over 3ozs of gold, and 13oza silver, to the ton. Great satisfaction is expected here by the shareholders at the prospects of the mine.

Weather here has been disagreeable for the last three days. ■
