The telegraphic items from a Wellington correspondent in to-night's issue will be gratifying to bur readers, especially to such of them as are ratepayers of the Borough. The Borough has, through the exertions of the Mayor and the Council, obtained a fine endowment, which it is to be hoped will soon place the municipality in a good sound financial position. We are also informed that the Water Supply difficulty has been fixed up—how it is not stated; Then there is another section of the railway to be let, including a bridge over the Kauaeranga at Shortland. In view of this latter we would strongly advise all property owners affected by the railway to come at once to some arrangement with the Government, so that there will not be delay in pressing on with the works; r f
There was no business sit the B.M. Court to-day. The youngest son of Major Withers was married in Fatea the other day. Some llawera (Taranakt) people, signing an advertisement calling a meeting the other day in support of Major Atkinson, styled themselves "aoti-Greyites."
