For seven weeks I suffered intense pain from a sprained ankle (which had swollen aouoh), add could get no relief, although I was under medical treatment, till at last I purohased a bottle of your ex* tract, und after using three bottles full, my ankle was completely cured. Sir, —Having suffered from a bad wound in the leg for a long time, I tried several remedies, none of which bad the desired effect; and, bb a forlorn hope, tried a bottle of the "Eucalypti," and I am happy to have tbe opportunity of bearing record to its efficacy; although having used but one small bottle, the wound is now healed. February 23rd, 1878. We have received the following testimony in favor of the new curative agent from onr correspondent at Port Douglas:—"Tbe Eucalypti preparation is being experimented with here, and the few bottles that hare been disposed of, prove all that has been written with regard to the efficacy of this discovery. A person whilst performing his daily duties in one of our stores, happened to tread on a rußty nail, which so inconvenienced him for some days, that he could neither put his foot to the ground or wear a boot—the part being so painful. He was pursuaded to try this new preparation, and upon applying the liquid twice, immense relief was soou ex* perienced, and the person referred to is now able to walk about as if nothing had happened to him. This came within my own observation, therefore I can vouch for the truth of this, assertion." ? Case of Swelling. In November, 1877, the wife of Mr Fickel Ironbark suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling, which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. . ITS CLAIM AS A CURATIVE. It has now become the fashion with the inventors or discoverers of remedial agents to claim something little-short of infallibility and universality of cure for their respective agents. Messrs Sandier and Sens do nothing of the sort. They have confidence that their oil possesses many virtues; but the full extent of these they do not know yet. They are now collecting data, and they are most careful and searching in performing this. It is quite sure then, that their eucalypti oil can fairly assert itself to be a grand panacea for many of the ills that flesh is heir to. In Scarlet-, Typhoid, or any cote of Fever, nothing will protect better against contagion than a few drops of the oil poured in the palm of the hand, and rubbed in, in order to liberate the vapors, or sprinkled over the clothes. The perfume will be noticed for a great length of time. . . For Children Attending Schools, the lame mode may be adopted. In Cases of Sickness, a few drops put into j a saucer, and put into the room will, being an etherio oil, evaporate, and fill the room with the purifying vapor. Are you obliged to Travel! A few drops occasionally rubbed on the body, will protect j against any contagion you may be exposed to, in coming in direct contact with sick persons, or in sleeping in the same room with, or in beds occupied previously by sick persons. All Sotelkeepers will do well to sprinkle from time to time in drawers, where linen is I usually kept, a few drops of the pure essential oil. It produces no spots whatever,: as every particle of it evaporates, and nothing remains. In short, where a disinfectant is needed, the j pure essential ecualypti oil ought to be the one you have recourse to, and no family ought' to be without it. For all Wounds, Cuts, Burns, Scoldings, Ulcers, and Cancerous Wounds, a piece of linen wrapped round the suffering part, and moistened with a few drops of the eucalypti essence, will atop all pain, and effect a speedy cure. In cases where a piece of linen cannot be applied, the moistening of the suffering part with the pure oil will do as well. In Case of Colds moisten the: nostrils with a few drops and inhale the vapour, and you will feel the immediate relief, and. entire riddaneo of the heat. In all eases where the Lungs may he Affected, the above-mentioned process, continually repeated, will be the best that can be advised. In cases of Rheumatism, a mixture of one part of the pure essential eucalypti oil with three parts of spirits of wine, well rubbed in the suffering part, has acted better than any other remedy. In all cases of Inflammation, the oil may bp applied to the part affected. In severe pases of Toothache of rheumatio origin, the pure essence may be applied on the external part of the face. In cases of Inflammation of the Eyes, apply the pure oil to the outside of the eyelids. Headache and Rheumatic Pains in the Head are positively removed and cured by rubbing the oil on the affeoted parts. ' For many Cases of Severe Bruises the oil has proved the best remedy. Inwardly used, take three or four drops in half a tumbler of water.
