The, rainy season is over, and-the grass is drying up. Several messengers arrived in camp from Cetewayo asking for terms of peace, but to all the answer of unconditional surrender has been returned. : Besides the Zulu" war we have a little. war in Rasuto-latid ■on bur hands; •■'■ Moirosi, the rebel chief, still holds out oa an impregnable mountain, and a few days since an unsuccessful attempt was made to storm it, in which two Volunteers* were killed and twelve wounded. Morirosi's men had raided on their own account a few days before this fiasco; and, surprising the camp at night, had assegaied a number of yeomanry in their tents. Sir Bartle Frere returned to Capo Town last week, and received a moatP enthusiastic reception. The day *Ws made a complete holiday, and triumphal: arches aud "V enetian masts were erected, and the town was illuminated at night.
