AUCKLAND.

# This day. ■ At the Cambridge adjourned Native meeting, convened by MrEobert Graham who is chief promoter, and Maihi which was held after four o'clock last* night, a discussion on the petition to the Governor' vst3 continued. Most of the speakers expressed opinions in favor of having a Maori Parliament in the Waikato, and to lease land only subject to the approval of a mixed commission. They said the Maori members had failed to do them any good, through their hearts, ..being alienated from the Maori people by Government money. A petition to the Governor was unanimously adopted. The••' meeting is not regarded of the slightest importance. ..' , . *^ Trouble has arisen over the award of the Court in the Okarau Block. The Ngatihan|;hapu, who expected toge#the lion's share* were only awarded fourteen hundred acres out of twenty-one thousand, the balance being given^to the -N"gatihinerangis. The Ngatihaua are dissatisfied, and sixty men armed with all kinds of weapons, have occupied the land, and defied their successful rivals to take possession. The latter, however, sold to Europeans immediately after the decision of the Court, and will probably leave the purcl&sers to settle it. The natives are building a pah on the land, but not a fighting pah, and will probably demand a rehearing of the case. ■ ? The Orange soiree last night was crowded. : Thomas Outhwaite, an old settler, and the first of the Supreme Court, is dead.
