The mine manager'ss weekly report is r as follows:-—" In consequence of the winding engine boiler-having to be repaired; operations have been suspended^ on .No. 9 reef at' 218 feet tevel, interj mediate stopes and also' slopes on No. 2 reef above 80 feet level. Tunnel level.—} In driving east No;. 3 reef is 18, inches thick, and the country is- tight. The] stone looks well, but has not shewn gold this week. 401bs of specimens,have been broken from the stopo. An intermediate level is now opened out from' the winze sunk below this drive. The mullock is sent down to the 80 feet level, and the quartz hoisted to tunnel and thence to battery, until winding is started again.^ Point Russell. —The stuff from hero is now showing improvement, being heavily charged with mineral. In last report I mention picking up specimen leader.' This has been driven on west 12 feet. It' is 8 inches thick, and looks well for gold. The general crushing has shown up well for the quantity put through, but the battery' has been stopped for two days. Tunnel Level.—The cross-cut south has, been driven 24 feet this week, making a total length of 204 feet. A promising reef, four feet thick, has been intersected atright angles with the drive. It is well defined, having two good walls. All the stuff obtained in driving through -t will be tested.' From the strike,; underlie, land character of the stone,; I think it is the Golden Age reef.. KUEANUI HILL. The company is crushing with; thirty head, and will retort towards the end of the week. Jenkins and' party have ;got a parcel of 14 tons going through. v i

The 89ozs 16dwts:referred to in Saturday's issue was the produce of a-cruihing of 40 tons of stone from the celebrated black reef which is beinsj worked in.this claim. The gold realised the unprecedently high price of £3 6s Id. The proprietor, Mr Cook, has been prospecting the claim for years with but poor success until lately when the productive lode now worked was struck. The prospects continue very promising.
QUEEN OF BEAUTY MILL. Mangan and party, Alburnia tributers, and a party of Moanatairi. tributera are occupying the stampers of this mill at present. . - - v GOLD BETUBNS.
