English Comic Opera.
"GIROFLE GIRO FLA."
Considering the inclemency of the weather, there was a fair house at the Academy of Music last evening. The weather seemed to have a somewhat dispiriting effect on the performers, as the performance was hardly so successful as on the evening. The audience, however, was appreciative, and the principal artists acquitted themselves admirably. A» mead of praise is due to the orchestra, under the leadership of Mr B. A. R. Owen. * TO-NIGHT. To-night this talented company will present a great double bill, comprising "H.M.S. Pinafore," and the second act of " The Sorcerer," containing the song by Miss Hunter "Dear friends take pity," and Mr Eiccardi's great solo, "Engaged to so-and-so." If Jupiter Pluvius abstains from using his wateringpot, the attractions presented for to-night should prove a great draw.
