A three-roomed cottage in Wakefield street, occupied by Constable Bist, of the Armed Constabulary, was burned down eafly this morning. The Constable was on duty at the station-house. Hist heard the alarm, and warned other members of the force, who ran to the- fire, and had to send word back that it was • Bist's own house. Bist loses everything. The house was owned by Mr Irvine, and was insured for fifty pounds in the New' Zealand office. , ■
