Thames Harbor Board.
The usual meeting of the Board was held in the.Council Chambers last evening. Present Mr Davies (in the chair), the Mayor, Messrs McGowan, Osborne and Wilson.
An offer to purchase the paving stones owned by the Board from J. J. O'Brien and Co., at the; rate^'of 2s 9d per yard was not accepted. The Secretary was authorised to insert a notice in,the papers at the request of the Harbormaster, warning masters of vessels;thfat they are required under' the Act, to report their arrival at the earliest possible time. .< ■ * Several-accounts were passed for payment.
The/Mayor spoke to his notice of motion, re the appointment; of a committee to make enquiries as to the best means of raising a ( loan on the foreshore grant. After some discussion, and as the deed of conveyance is not yet in the possession of the Beard, the proposer ot the resolution asked leave to withdraw it for the pre»ont. . This concluded,the business.
