AUCKLAND.
This day. Frank Whorskey, aged fourteen, James Whorskey, aged nine, John Berry, aged twelve, and Geo. Evans, aged eleven, were charged at the Police Court to-day with stealing a number of beer bottles at various parts of the city and suburbs, The police said the boys were young thieves, who watohed opportunities of the absence of the owners of homes, to commit depredations. The elder Whorskey was sentenced to eight days' imprisonment with one flogging'; the younger committed to the Industrial Home. The Magistrate regretted that there was no reformatory for boys.' ! \ WhiieEewi was inspecting the oavalry at Te Awamutu he said : "Those men of yours on horses would be useless to follow vi into the bush; you would have to get men on foot."
