Bench.
Hard upon the Publicans. ; The fire noticed by the passengers of the Waikato train last night, destroyed a three-roomed cottage occupied. by a farm 'laborernamed Gould, on Mr Morrin'« property, Bemuera. The cottage was uninsured. :'•:■
The Licensing Bench did not refuse the license of the Nevada Hotel on account of opening in the wall, but for supplying liquors to an adjoining restaurant. The license was granted, but the Bench notified that' in any future, case the license would be ; forfeited.. The Bench also intimated: 1. That for the future three convictions will cause a man to lose his license in any case. 2. That the Bench will not renew a license where there are two convictions against the occupier within one year, and 3. That licenses will not be renewed unless upon requisition and upon,being reported on by the police to be necessary, shall have been supplied to their satisfaction. \
