A LITTLE WAIF FALLS INTO GOOD HANDS.

, The Cincinnati Enquirer of January 15th, says:—Last evening, about halfpast nine o'clock, A. J. Lee, who lives at No. 47 Hopkins street, found a girl baby, apparently about five, months old, lying in a basket, and the basket sitting in his yard. Mr Lee's attention was called to ' the basket aud its contents by a boy, who I immediately disappeared, and could .not I be found afterwards. It is believed he left the baby where it was found. The basket and its human contents were taken • charge of by Mr Lee, and carried into the' bouse. The basket contained, beside the baby, a bottle of par.ftKor.ic,' a silver spoon, and a good ' supply of clothing, made up in good style. The child had a gold ring on one of its fineera, and a belt chain"around its waist. The following is a-copy of a note found in the basket, written, in a lady's hand, wjthout any'signature:—"l am baby Mabel Dore Pleaso"tako me and care for mo,; and I may be a blessing to you. Please keen a copy of tho" morning papers, for when I grow to be a Mis., in my teens, rwrnQtbrng may turn up that will^make tbenuof value to poor little me.
