OLD GOLDEN CALF.
To-day Mr Radford showed me some first-class specimens obtained from-the winze at No. 3 level this morning. The gold was to be seen running through some of the stones in- a rich vein, about the third of an inch thick. . They are certainly the best stones ever obtained from this level. There is a great improvement noticeable in the lode in the drive, which has come together again, and is now a well defined, promising looking reef, about 2£ feet thick. The manager hopes shortly to be in a position to keep ten head going constantly.
