The Bank Calling 1 up Capital.

There was not much excitement here to-day. It is believed that the crisis has passed. The action of the associated banks has created confidence.

Intense excitement prevailed on Saturday in the provincial towns among the shareholders.

The Australian-European have resolved to call up ono pound per share in order to enable the bank to re-open on a restricted

scale.

An early meeting of depositors and directors will bo hold, to arrange for a settlement of claims.

The bauk will probably re»open soon,

but most,of the branches will bo discontinued. Confidence is manifested in the directors.
