We are informed that dealers in medicine i often,try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade instead' of bur Extract, i So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a cuso is concerned > tho consequences would not be serious; but! as the qualities of both of the products are ' in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our, duty, tp. direct the attention of the public to' the'following facts: —■ ' The eucalyptus ;6il?is\ recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, [blistering 'effect upon the] skin.; J'l 1 Any, blistering brought on by: the application of a medicament' must 1 increase iaflam-' matibn^arid; it is. thereforei fetident that in cases of ; wounds, colds, bronchitis,.diphtheria,' croup, sprains, &6.', the curative power of our' . extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract mußt impair the disease. , The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that' tile oil is a, resinous product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound \ weight; our extracts consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing'in its effects, its'price being twentyfour shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article^ is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials; vials bearing on the labels our trademark and, signature. l! ■'■■'* .
