The battery is crushing for the company and four tribute parties. The - company's crushing is hardly shaping so well. At the mine there is little fresh to notice. The Point Kussoll reef is looking well in both drive and stopes. The mine .manager's weekly report is as follows: —" 218----feet level.—After cross-cutting north 30 feet we have intersected No. 9 reef, and driven on it -west 15 feet. This is now a strong lode throe feet thick, but low grade stuff. lam daily looking for an improvement, as the drive is coming under the run where the reef was payable in the level above, and about a fortnight's, driving will connect with the winze sunk below 150-feet level. ' 80-feeti level.— la driving west I do not think we have the same reef as in the winze which is being sunk. , The winze is down 65 feet below tunnel level, and for the last 25 feet the;reef; has taken more underlay., Water is .making freely in the bottom, but the drive below is dry. I have suspended sinking, and shall connect with the winze from drive. Point Russell. —The drive and stbpe east from winze have much improved, and the reef has now a. better ■ appearance for gold. There is no change in the drive and «tope west, but the, reef looks well, and shows strong colors of, gold. South cross-cut, Tunnel leveL^'lT feet has been driven this week through tight country, intermixed with stringers of quartz. The crushing is scarcely
