UNSOLICITED TESTIMONIAL. Extraordinary Cure of '-■ an Auckland ' Omnibus Driver, 21' years Resident, of Long-standing Rheumatism. ; iv : AtTOKLAHD, August 20,1878. -' Dear Sir, —I had suffered severely; and moat acutely from Bbeumatism for many years, brought on, I believe, from exposure to all weathers in the exercise of my calling. For years I could not sleep at nightj and was unable to. lie except in one position. Day and night I was full of excruciating pains, scarcely able to move about at all, and as a natural sequence my general health was also materially irjured. I believe I suffered, the pangs of Rheumatism and .its attendant evils in every shape and form, and my life was a burden to me. I tried every remedy M could ', hear of, but without obtaining any relief whatever. The sum, I spent in medicine and medical advice was very considerable, but of, no avail, until I invested in a bottle of your Blood Restorer/ 1 may say that I was not,hopeful,at all when I purchased 1 your'medicine; I had tried so many specifics without receiving the slightest benefit, but having determined to give it a ' fair trial I carried out my intention. I adhered strictly to the directions, and the result 'is that I am changed from a mere wreck to my former self again—restored to health andi vigor, and able to drive daily through all] weathers, and at all hours, if occasion re* quires. lam sure you have-never had a: worse case to deal with" than mine,: and although even now, jn bad weather, I feel my limbs rather stiff, after sitting on the box for a long time, 1 am a living example of the almost miraculous curative properties (under Providence) of your now celebrated Blood Restorer. My friends tell me it is a duty I; owe to my fellow creatures to send you this, acknowledgement, and if.it is the means of persuading other Bufferers to go and do likewise, I shall feel that this letter is not written in vain. I have the more pleasure in giving this testimonial as it is quite unsolicited on your part. You are at liberty, of course, to make any use of this. —I am, sir, yours gratefully, Henby Maiden. To H. E. Hitchens, Esq., Auckland. ; Agent for the Thames— - GEOEGE DEN BY, Bhown Stbeet, GRAHAMSTOWN. 82

NOTICE. PUKE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTKACT. rjUDER the distinguished patronage of U His Majesty the King of Italy, at Home, according J;o communication received from the Consul-G-eneral for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucalyptus oil found in the trade, instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing ot imposition against the public in such a case is concerned | the consequences would Dot be serious; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it ourduty to; direct the attention of the public to the following facts::—The eucalyptus oil i,a recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary naturej : and;manifests a drawing, blistering etfecfc-npon the skin. , .;,.:/ Any blistering brought on by the application of; a medicament must increase inflammation,, and it ia therefore evident that in caseß of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, &c.y the curative power of our extract qn the named diseases being unquestionably, proved by" former publications, in this paper. An application of the oil instead cf our extract must impair the diseasetr The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that tlie oil isa resinous product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound; weight; bui" extracts consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twentyfour shillings for one pound weight. Our extract^ the genuine article, is only made up in one halt' ounce and one ounce vials; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. • ;
