CALEDONIAN.
There was a rumor current in town today that some extraordinary discovery had been made in this mine. On enquiries being made at the mine it transpired that the rumor was without foundation. During the past few days several pieces of, picked stone have been obtained from the lode at' the No. 2 level. The manager is, carrying on stoping and driving operations at this level. The contractors for driving to cat the lode at No* 3 level made a start yesterday.
