■ A Native who attended the last Parihaka meeting, reports that Te Whiti invited all outside natives to "take shelter , with him immediately, as there is going to be a tremendous earthquake, which . will destroy all -who don't seek his protection.
A parly of seven.,or.eight natives went into Mr Caverhill's lands at Oakurau yesterday afternoon, and began ploughing [it up/ They' Had' 'four bullock plougKs.' !Te Womo, nephew of the celebrated 1 Wirenui Kingi, and Tukino were in com- \ mand of the party. When the natives ; were asked why they were there, they said they were under orders from Te ; Whiti, who told them to r go and occupy ; all the confiscated lands, as the Europeans I were now their slaves. The natives state Uhatallthe confiscated land in Waitara and other places will be occupied.
