Miscellaneoas SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL EXHIi BITION, 1879. New Zealand Regulations. ffiHE following are the" New Zealand JL Kegulations, which we publish for the information of all who intend exhibiting in the Sydney Exhibition :— I. All Exhibits must, unless otherwise specially arranged, be forwarded to the Commissioners, at Wellington, through the Local Committees, before the first Week in July. j 2. Local Committees will take steps to insure that collections from their respective districts shall reach Wellington by that time. ', 3. The Collectors of Customs have been directed by the Government to arrange for the transmission of the Exhibits at the public expense and free of charge to the Exhibitors. ' 1 4. Each Exhibit must be accompanied by two copies of full written descriptions, stating value ;»and by the name and address of the' Exhibitors in full; according to forms of- applications for space and catalogue information that will be sup-. plied. -....•■..■ ; 5. If Exhibits are not intended for competiiion, it must be so staled by the Exhibitor, , i 6. If more than one Exhibit is packed in a case, it will be advisable to distinguish each Exhibit by a serial number. 7. Each package must have affixed toii a: label or mark showing the place from which it com'e'sj and the serial number of the package. Labels will be supplied by ,the Commissioners to Local Committees and Exhibitors. 8. All expepsesof, transport, after Exhibits are received by Local Committees, will be undertaken by the Commissioners. 9. It is very necessary to insure that nothing is exhibited which does not excel in quality. Exhibitors should therefore be very careful in their selection of samples. 10. The Commissioners would specially urge the collection of the following articles:— ■ . Gold. ;.;/:.f. ;-\: ■;,■//..•■; : ■ .: i Grain, Pulse, Grass Seeds, &c—l measured bushel. Flour, Meal, &c—2s lb. Wool. —6 fleeces', &c. (See special wool schedule.) ' Woolen Goods. Coal.—Sections of seams, samples. Timber. —Series of uniform sized sami pies. Sections with the bark on and one side polished, the other being left in its natural state. Specimens to be not longer than 3 feet, except in the case of samples illustrative of the extreme growth to which particular trees attain. ! Furniture.—Manufactured from New : Zealand wood. : Flax.—Dressed Fibre, in 50 lb bales. Eope, and other Manufactured Articles. . Kauri Gum.—Ordinary market samples, showing grades of quality; •• special samples, showing size of mass or purity. Tanning Barks. ' Leather. : I Dyes. • Paint. Preserved Meat.—Six Tins of each kind, I and 10 lb. samples. Cheese.— Whole Cheese of any size. 14 lb. in the aggregate. Wine, Beer, and Spirits.—ln bottle— ; max., 2 gallons. Beer, in wood— ; max., 18 gallons. . \ Tobacco Leaf and Cigars.— Max., 10 lb.; mm., leaf, 5 lb., cigars, 1 lb. i Mineral Waters.— Max., f gallon, or 1 doz. in-Bottles. j; . ': : Mineral and Ores. I Works of Art.r—Only those illustrative of New Zealand scenery and natural history; photographs, plans, maps,, ! &c. ''' ' " : Miscellaneous Articles.—Such as illus- : ' trate the history of the country or its' inhabitants.' r : > 11. The Commissioner will use every endeavour to provide against the loss or damage of the collections, which will be duly insured, but they will not hold themselves or the Government responsible for any damage or loss. ; 12. Any Exhibits not absolutely given to or bought- by the "Commissioners (unless the owners expressly desire that they be duly disposed of at Sydney) will be returned to the Local Committees at the expense ofi the Commissioners. 13. Local Committees will, at their discretion, accept articles for exhibitiou, subject to final revision by the Conrmissioners, as space for exhibition is limited. j 14. Local Committees are recom mended to appoint Sub-Committees toassist them in seeing that none but first-rate specimens of raw products are forwarded to Wellington. [ 15.
