Medical ' NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTEACT. |"TNDER the distinguished patronage of U His Majesty the King of Italy, at Koine, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions Ifrom the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. 1 We are informed that dealers in medicine ©ften^try to Bell the eucalyptus oil found in j the trade instead of our Eucalyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the'public in such a case is concerned the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the attention j of the public to the following facts: — ; The eucalyptus oil is, recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase is flam* mation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diphtheria, croup, sprains, &c, the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper: An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the disease. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resihouß product, equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight; our extracts consists of the evaporating; particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twentyfour shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. ISTNo other'essence is genuine.except that in the vials bearing on the labels our : , > signature and trade mark. Eidraordinary . Cure of an Auckland ' Omnibus Driver, 21 years Resident, of Long-standing Rheumatism. Auckland, August 20,1878. Dear Sir, —I had suffered severely' and most acutely from Rheumatism for many years, brought on, I believe, from exposure.to air weathers in the exercise of my calling. For years I could not sleep at night, and was unable \to lie except in one position. Day and night I was full of excruciating pains, scarcely able to move about at all, and as a natural sequence my general health was also materially injured. I believe I suffered the pangs of. Rheumatism and its 'attendant evils in every shape and form, and my life was a burden to me. I tried every remedy I could hear of, but without obtaining any relief whatever. The sum I spent in medicine and medical advice was very considerable,.. but of no avail, until I invested in a bottle of your Blood Restorer. I may say that I was not hopeful at all when I' purchased your medicine j I had tried so many specifics without receiving the slightest benefit, but having determined to give .it a fair trial X. carried, but'i my intention. I adhered strictly to .the directions, and the result is ihat I am changed from a mere wreck to my former self-again —restored to health and vi»or, and able to drive daily through all weathers,; and at all hours, if occasion requires. lam sure you have never had a worse case to deal with than mine, and although even now, in bad weather, I feel my limbs rather Btiff, after sitting on the box for a long;time, 1 am a living example of the almost miraculous curative properties: (under Providence) of your now celebrated Blood Restorer. My friends tell me it iB a duty I 'owe to my fellow creatures to send you this acknowledgement^ and if. jt is the means of persuading other sufferers to go and do likewise, I shall feel that this letter is not written in vain.; I have.the morepleasure in giving this testimonial as it is quite unsolicited on your part. You are at liberty, of course, to make any use of this.—l am, sir, yours gratefully, . , Henbx Maiden. To H. E. Hitchehs, Esq., Auckland.
