CURE.
The manager has no work at present in -.*- ---progress in the mine, as he is waiting for/ instruction* from the Board of Directors to commence on a new plan of operations. Some time ago a party of Eed Queen tributers were working a feader.in a portkm of that company's ground abutting on the Cure proper and Mary Ann bdundafiiis. They obtained stuff worth 25ozs per ton, bat whoir the leaded struok' the 'mfilldck*^ No. 6 reef they miitook'it for a slide, an?r consequently stoppeddriving ahead. A few - wtseks J a^o" 1»f/freahTii'party of. .EedQueen tributers cleaned out this drive, and drove into the' supposed"' slide, which they discovered to be a reef —the No. 6 lode. '' The caving in oi a portion, of the workings, however, compellM them to stop work, /SincePthea the manager has discovered that the Eed Queen cross leader runs right through the No. 6 lode, and into the Mary Ann section of the Cure, the boundary of which is only some 30 or 40 feet from the point where the two lodes come in contact withp each other. Gilmour's leader also' runs in this direction; and the underlie of the No. 6 goes into the Cure ground about 40 feet above the level. The manager has consequently recommended the putting in of a joint \crosi-cat by the two companies interested. With the exception of a little surface working, the Mary Ann 'sectionjisltbt*lly unprotected. ? .jj f
