Weiberjj, implicated in the gold robbery from the mail steamer Avoca, has been captured near Tarwin Hirer, in Gippsland. He surrendered after three shots had been fired at him.

The official statistics shew the yield last harvest to be 6,715,000 bushels of wheat, being a decrease of 1,214,000 bushels, as compared with the previous year. The average yield is 8.7 bushels, as compared with 12.4 bushels per acre during the previous year. The yield of oats is 307,000 bushels, being an increase on last season.
