Mining Accident.
.■ A somewhat serious mining, accident happened to-dayHbetwee 11 and 12 o'clock to a young man named George Truscolt, employed in Williams' Moanatairi tribute. It, appears that he, was, working in , the .stopes when a quantity of stuff,fe)l on 1 him. When extricated by his mates it was found that his leg was broken, and he had sustained several minor bruises ■ andsoraichei. . He was carried out of tunnel on a truck, after the injured limb, had been supported with rude splints, and a cab being in readiness outside/ was at once conveyed to the. hojpilaLwhere,the leg, was ; set- by.Dr Payne,^ who 'was-in readinesf.' The doctor fears "that ttere ' 'will be a permanent(stiffaesp^abottt||b.« ankle. Truscott is a member of the Naval Brigade, and his many friends will be sorry to hear of the accident which has befallen him. . --.- - p -s\ :p ;
