H. Mitchell's English Opera.
"Martha."
In consequence of the inclemency of the weather, there was but a limited attendance at the opera last evening, when "Martha" was performed. Notwithstanding the poor house the programme
was gone through honestly, and the audience were thoroughly appreciative^ The gem of the opera is " The Last Kose of Summer," which Miss Wangenheim rendered with much taste and feeling, and an encore was demanded. Mr Florence, though a little hoarse, sang and acted in his usual pleasing style. The performance was most successful and deserved a bumper house. To-night. To-night will be the grand fashiorisa>'•<: night of the season, and at The Gland Duchess " will be performed, with Miss Wangenheim in the title role. It is a part in which she is said to excell.
