Ho Expects to see Australia
Independent.
London, April 30.
At a meeting of the Liberal party at Chelsea, Sir Chas/Dilke chairman, Mr Berry, in reply to an address, said that
he expected ultimately to see Australia independent. 'Australia was now more like a republic than the monarchy of Eng. land.
In the debate last night in the House of Lords relating to Free v Trade versus Protection, the Premier spoke on the subject, declaring that reciprocity, which meant a reversal of free trade principles, was now simply impossible.
