MOANATAIRI.

In yeiterday's isiue the mine msnager's weekly report to the directors appeared, and readers would there notice the report of good blotches of gold being seen in the No. 4, leader at the 218 feet or bottom level. This discovery is, perhaps, of more importance than might appear to the casual observer, inasmuch as it is the first gold of any consequence found at th» 218 feet level. The gold has been discovered near the junction of the leader with the No. 9 reef—the main lode of that vicinity—and is some distance seaward of the locality of the rich patch at the 80 feet level. I may mention that the manager expected to meet with an improvement in the quartz about t'u3 point.
