GREYMOUTH.

This day,

A fire broke out in Howie's Masonic Hotel at 2 o'clock. By the time the alarm was given the building was enveloped in flames. The Brigade succeeded in preventing the flames spreading to other buildings. The hotel is almost a total wreck, the furniture and effects being all destroyed. Insured in the National for £300 ; loss £600.
