The English Opera Company.
The above company will leave Auckland for the Thames op Friday next, and will open on Saturday in Wallace's beautiful opera of " Maritana." It is said to be the finest effort of the company, and if in its production They equal the Alice' May opera troupe, as stated by several of oar Australian exchanges, they will have a very profitable season here. The box office of the company is at Mr Hurra's, stationer, Brown street, where tickets for the front seats may be obtained in advance. A packet of six tickets may be purchased for JEI at the same place. Mr C. Florence, the leading tenor of the, company, wet here with the Simonsen opera company, and won golden opinions by his fine singing. The basso, Mr Browning, was for years the leading basio of the oelo-
bfated Lyster opera troupe. Proi'enuor Hughes, the Australian composer and musician, is conductor to the company. The wardrobe of the company, according to the Herald, is magnificent, huving been especially prepared for the company by Mr H. Mitchell. Wo hope they will hare a bumper houso on their opening night.
