TnEiiK is a steam launch now in the Thames winch Ins Uoyal Highness the Prince of Wales contemplates purchasing for the amusement of the lloyal children. Th 3 little woodeu craft was built at the Herreshoff manufacturing works in America, and is modelled on the lines of the Hereshoff torpedo boat. The steam . is supplied by a potent coil boiler on* the beehive principle, the tubes being an inch in diameter, and the utmost amount of water in the boiler at one time is about a gallon. All chanre of exploding and , scalding is thus avoided, notwithstanding the fact that the working pressure is 12Olbs to the square inch. The launch weighs 12 cwt, and is guaranteed a speed of 12 knots. Ingratitude is a kind of mental weak* ness. We hare never seen an able man who was ungrateful.
