Daniel Orme was charged with illegally slaughtering four pigs on his premises, Owen street, Grahamstown, on the 4th of April. Mr Brassey appeared for the defendant who pleaded not guilty. J. B. Mason, Inspector of Slaughterhauses to Borough of Thames, sworn, deposed-On Friduy fourth in the evening, I visited defendant's shop in Owen street. I saw in the shop four freshly slaughtered pigs. These pigs were quite warm. I was told by defendant's wife that defendant was not in.
