Pumping Association.
la accordance with instructions issued by the County Council, Mr Thomas Badford has assumed the temporary charge of the pump, and to-day, with a sufficient staff, got up steam and fixed the gear. To-morrow, probably, a start will be made at disconnecting the balance bob at the 300-feet level and removing some of the fixings of the rods. At present the balance bob is covered with gas, but the manager hopes to expel it this evening by turning a little water down the shaft. Everything should be made snug in a few days.
