Wednesday. At the Supreme Court to-day Henry Carter, charged with cattle stealing near Charleston, was acquitted.

This day. At the Supreme Court last night Samuel Colan, charged with perjury, was acquitted. McNamara v. Norwich Union Insurance Company is now proceeding. In this case the claimant is refused payment of the insurance on the ground that the stock destroyed in the plaintiff's store, which was burnt, was very largely over* insured. The claim is for £600.
