The Waikato Campaign.
In accordance with the general order issued by Major Murray, such of the members of the various companies who could make ifc convenient to leave for Auckland ©n route for the Waikato this morning, mustered on the Burke-street Wharf at 9 a.m., and proceeded to Auckland in the Eotomahana. Their numbers were as follows :—Scottish Battalion, 26; Naval Brigade.. 27; Native Corps, 8; St. George's Naval Cadets, 7; Engineers, 6 ; Bangers, 6; Scottish Cadets, 2; total, 82. The remainder will muster opposite the Pacific Hotel at 10 30 this evening, prepared for the route. On arrival at Auckland the troops will have an early breakfast, and before 7 o'clock will be in the train bound for Hamilton, which will be reached about 2 o'clock in the afternoon. All the arrangements have been carefully made to prevent the slightest hitch, and if the clerk of the weather is kind, no doubt our boys will heartily enjoy themselves.
