At the Thanes Shipbuilding Company, Blackwall —Swift and Linnet, double-|crew gunvessels, 770 !tohs, 870 vhorse-power ;■ Majestic, iron armour-plated turret-ship, and the Pincher, double - screw iron gunboat, are being prepared to be built at Pembroke; and the''Con* queror, iron armour-plated turret-ship at Chatham. Several of the above vessels .are now almost ready for launching, and in addition to these .several new, shipi, which have not yet been in oommiisioß, are preparing for sea, amongst them being the Neptune (late Indepencia), 6, armour* plated turret-ship, 9000 tons, 9000 horse* power, at Portsmouth; Superb (late Messendouyeh), 16, armour-plated; 8760 tons, 7430 horae-power, at Chatham; Nelson, 12, armour-plated ship, 7323 torn, 6000 horsepower, at Chatham. Provision will also be made in the Ettimates for the next year for the laying down of several other vessels, including two ironvladi. ,
