M r *D-__- t an Irish gentleman was lately iriyited to dinner by a 'Wealthy Scotch residenj, at whose generous table he met a number of his host's countrymen. The conversation turned on Irish bulls, of which one and another of the company reported several,, until the table was in a roar. The Irish guest kept quiet until his patience was exhausted, but at length blurted out: "Say, Mr C, an do you know what I think ? " " Why, indeed, what do you think, Mr D. ? " Sure, sir, an' do you now what I think, indade, that not more than one-balf of these lies that they all tell about the Irish are true." This unintended contribution to the subject brought down the house.
" How many of you are there ? " asked a voice, from an upper window of a serenading party. "Pour." was the reply. "Divide that among you," said a voice, as a bucket of water fell on those beneath. |f , ;. .-
