RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT
THIS DAY. (Before Colonel Fraser, E.M.) OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Michael Conroy was charged with using obscene language within hearing of persons passing in Queen street, Thames, on the 30th ultimo. Defendant said he supposed he had done it. It was a long time since he touched a drop of drink. Mr Brassey said that Mr Maroney and his wife, who was in a delicate 6tate of health, were sitting in their house, and heard their names mentioned, accompanied by the obscene language and threats. Defendant: It was all about Mcllhone your Worship. I won't allow any man to abuse Mcllhone.
His Worship : Don't you think Mcllhone's quite able to look after himself. As you hare not been before me for two years I will let you off with the nominal penalty of 20s and costs. Court adjourned.
