It is going down in floor 4 feet thick, and averages 2 ounces per ton. This portion of the mine has been but little prospected, and about 60 feet, driving will strike the reef above referred to at 80-foet level. The stopes throughout have been poor this fortnight, but are now showing an improvement. 350 tons quartz have boen crushed, yielding 1410z9 retorted gold. — Eobebt Comee."
