(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib, —Is it right that the Underground Viewer in Connection, with the Mining j Department here should also hold the position of manager of the C .ledonian mine and receive a salary therefrom? Surely the two positions are incompatible, and one of them should be relinquished at once. Less than three managers are required to manage this mine under present circumstances. The ladder-way in the shaft should be attended to at once.— I am, &c, Wobkman. April Ist, 1879.
