This day. Messrs Binney and Mason report:— The produce market continues dull, and stocks of flour in store, and coming in are fully equal to the demand. There is an entire absence of speculation. Adelaide, £13 10s to £14; Southern, £10 to £10 10s, and 20s lower for unknown brands. Bran, £6 to £6 10s; pollard; ditto; wheat 4s 3d, Southern 4s; fowl wheat, 3s 6d to 3s 9d; oats, 3s 9d ; maize freely offered at 4s 6d; hams and bacon B|d in cloth, 6|d to 7|d ba?e; cheese* B|d; bufter, lOd ; potatoes, 5s to 58 lOd.
Mr Buckland reports:—At the Haymarket, on Tuesday last, sound hides, 3d to 3|d per pound; inferior, lfd to 2|d; tallow, 28s per cwt; pelts, 3d to 4d; skins, Is to 2s 6d; Tartarian oats, at auction, 3a 6d ; wheat, 4s 3d; maize, 4s 4d to 4s 6d per bushe 1.
A series of accidents are reported from Northern Wairoa. Barney Donnelly has been bruised frightfully in the chest by a falling tree kicking back. Edward Bunting has been dangerously cut on the back by his mate's axe slipping off a log they were engaged in cutting. Jacob Christmas has lost part of his thumb by a jam between timber.
