OLD GOLDEN CALF.
Daring the last two or three days the reef in drive has opened to 4 feet thick, and shows gold freely. This morning, on breaking down, some speipimens were obtained, and gold left in'the face. The quartz could npt;.be ; better for rich^old, and closely re'sembieß that showing in the Moanatairi before theirricb, patch. ■ There is abundance of good mineral springs. The water in the winze, from No. 2 level, is slowly draining out, and the manager will commence to rise .tp. meet it as soon as possible. There will be about 70 feet to rise. The manager has about 20 tons of stuff broken but, 1 and will probably crush next week.
