Fisher (25 yards) was also entered for this event, but did not complete the running. O'Connell, though he had run in several previous events, travelled gamely until he was passed by Daykin some distance from the winning post. He then completed the distance at a walk.; Daykin's running was much admired. B—THREE LEGGED RACE—lit prize, £1; 2nd, ss. Entrance Is Frobert and Moorcr.;ft ... 1 Manning and Martin ... 2 Four other couples started, but Probert and Moorcrafb were evidently adepts at this kind of running, and won easily. 10-STANDING HIGH JUMP—lst prize, £2; 2nd, 10a. This concluded the programme of ; sports, and after the school children had had tea served on the green, the procession was reformed, and returned to town, all agreeing that a most enjoyable day had been spent.
