MOANATAIRI.
The following is a copy of the mine manager's weekly report:—■" Point Ru& sell section : The drive east is now extended 90 feet, and in 10 feet further will be under winze sunk from level above. The reef here is 2| feet thick, hard and well defined. In the last 8 feet driven it has greatly improved, and the hangingwall part looks well for gold. About 25 tons are now broken and will be treated next week. We have started repairing the winze above mentioned, which is down 40 feet below upper level, in order to effect communication below and open up sections for stoping. Main tunnel has mads slow progress this week, owing to the ground being wet and hard, 12 feet has been driven since last rep rted, and the reef is now from 4 to 6 ieet thick. On the south side the stone, is gold bearing, being a mixture of mundic and antimony. 40 tons of quartz have been broken from here and 5 stampers will be started on it next Monday. I may mention that the lode is striking parallel with tunnel, and will thus be prospected as driven on. 218 level: No. 9 reef in drive west is 3 feet thick. I think the best part of this reef will be inefc with in about 40 feet further, as good gold went down in bottom of 150 feet level. 20 tons of quartz have been broken, and 5 head of stampers will start crushing tin's next week, and be kept permanently going. There is no change in No. 2 reef at 80 feet level. During fortnight 228 tons were crushed yielding 18502s gold.— ItOBP. COMEB."
