THE RECEPTION OF THE SHOOTISTS.
(To the Editor of the Evening Star.) Sib,—l am surprised at the little interest taken in the reception of our representatives on their return from Nelson, after acquiring so much honor for the Thames and their respective corps; and I think the officers at their meeting the other night might have come to some other conclusion than to let the private affairs of one individual interfere with the proper reception that ought to be given to our comrades, so as to entertain them more creditably than is going to be done. I believe that if the men as well as the officers had been consulted on the matter they wquld have gone in hand in hand together to give honor where honor is due, and not simply to muster, just to parade the streets for a while, and nothing farther to show them that we as comrades fully thanked them for the honor they have achieved,—l am, &c, CoMBADE.
