The City Corps and the Naval Brigade mustered at the-railway station to receive Petty Officer Gordon, of the Thames, the Carbine Champion, and the returned representatives. They were afterwards entertained at luncheon, when mutual congratulations were indulged in. .
News from Port Charles reports the drowning of Frederick and Charlotte Otto at Stoney Bay. It is Surmised they went out in a boat to visit their friends and were capsized.
Two men named Bond and Maghan, working in Harrs" bush, Wangapoa, were knocked down by a falling tree. The trunk rolled on Maghan, crushing him to death.
There is a great Hibernian fete and children's treat to-day. Many hundreds of people are enjoying themselves in the Domain.
