NELSON.
This day.
The citizens' ball last night to the Volunteer representatives was a brilliant success, there being a very large number present. Dancing was kept up with great spirit till four a.m.
White's dwelling house, situate at Bnghtwater, with all its contents, was totally destroyed by fire last night. All
the family except Mrs White were absent at the time. The house was insured in the National for £400, and the Norwich Union for £200; there were some small amounts insured on the furniture.
