The 6th day of March was the day originally named for the Kopua meeting by the Kingites, but as they have seen fit to change the Gregorian Calendar, and we are not quite certain whether they hare gone back to the Julian Calendar, or bare invented one of their own, nothing can be made of their dates. The last report was, that the meeting would commence on the Ide 3 of March—the 15th, but a further postponement will be necessary, chiefly, we are informed, owing to difficulties in the native commissariat department. Tawhiao is not at^likurangi, but between that place and Kawhia, where the natires are making a road for the conveyance of supplies. At Wharekawa and Whakatiwai, on the western shore of the Firth of Thames, a large supply of dried mussels and shark has been accumulated, and these are to be taken over to Mercer, whence the Government will pay the freight to Alexandra. A quantity of the same kind of food is to be taken up from Waiuku. Information from Waikato says that the meeting is expected to commence at an early date, as the natives are killing bullocks at Kopua and erecting breakwinds to supplement their house accommodation, on account of the large number of visitors expected. It is reported that the natives have a complete collection of all the reports that have appeared in the newspapers re railways, telegraphs, &c, as well as those respecting the return of the Harapipi iands. About twenty of the principal Northern chief 3 who have attended the meeting at Orakei are expected to be present, including Paul, Arama Karaka, Pairsma, Paraone, Te Hemara, Eramiha, Heta te Hara, Kerei Mangonui. The last two represent the Ngajpuhi tribe.—' Herald.
